Actually they didn't buy it, it was seized in a drug bust, and it's also marked.

All they have to do is ride along at 5mph under the speed limit, looking for nice seat covers like we all do. Just about everyone that passes them will be thumbing their phone down near the center console. Like fish in a barrel.

But I really think they need to focus on the CDL drivers holding phones to their ear while driving along. There's NO excuse for that.

And don't get me started on 4 wheelers with 5 occupants where the driver is the one texting or yammering away with the phone to their ear. No reason that someone else in the vehicle could be handling the communication tasks while the driver just drives...

I had a garage sale a few weeks ago, some items for sale included PFD's - life jackets. A man rolled up and asked me how much they were, I replied "10 bucks each"; he dropped them and drove away. I commented to a person standing next to me, " I guess a persons life is not worth 10 bucks to that fellow?".

Statistics indicate that texting while driving is more deadly than driving drunk. Is 5mpg not worth saving lives?

Guess all those fines aren't bringing in enough revenue to the state so the police need to supplement it by hauling freight.

in utah, highway patrol rides around in a england truck occasionally.

riding around in their patrol cars like they normally do has the same effect as a semi. with better mpg's. not to mention, cars are faster at pulling people over then semi's.

What is difficult to understand? BTW, the life jackets I had for sale were brand new, if I had not sold them I would have donated them.

Do you need to look at your phone or CB to talk into it? Texting requires that one lOOk at the keypad to type, and to read messages received.

I have heard of studies that indicate that just talking on a phone is no more distracting than singing along to the radio or talking to a passenger. It is the act of dialing it and also texting that are the dangerous distractions.
