I researched Sheetz on here. Learned a great deal but the most recent thread was two years old that I saw. Anybody have any info as far as wages, hours, bennies etc on Sheetz? I seen a position just opened up near me. From what I did read it might be worth it to get my hazmat endorsement.

Hi, Blackshack46, I don't know anything about the company, but are you trying to get out of foodgrade hauling?

    Blackshack46 Thanks this.

Last I heard it was [still] a good company to drive for. You do your job and they leave you alone. No unrealistic expectations. Good maintained equipment and home at night.

Kinda sorta. I knew what I was getting into as far as hauling foodgrade. But the company is where I lacked knowledge. It's a good company don't get me wrong. I say that and they have taken care of me quite well. But I'm tired of making mile pay. That doesn't work in trucking. If I'm going to sit in traffic and go a mile in an hour id rather make $18+ for that time than $0.45 for the same time. And I'd like an actual schedule. This going home after a run taking my ten and getting dispatched for something I don't have to leave the house for another ten hours is rediculous.

Hey Blackshack, what happened with ACME? If your looking for other jobs, try around the Allentown area. Nestle is always looking for drivers up there. Grocery Haulers in Breinigsville and Norristown is local 463. Lehigh Valley in Landsale is 463, so is HP Hood. Asley Furniture is in Leesport. Wegmans and Walmart in Pottsville. All good paying jobs and all within driving distance of where you live.

I hear you brother, its so nice getting paid from the min I get to work till im done. Having the same start time every day is also huge for me. Getting a taste for high hourly pay, with OT and a set schedule, it would be hard to go back on the road.

I still have my hopes on Acme but it's been two weeks and I kinda lost that "good" feeling about it. So I'm looking for something just in case Acme falls through. And honestly even though I do not really like the situation im in, I ####### love pulling tanks.

I have thought about it often in the last few weeks preceding up till now about it and I just can't imagine pulling a box again. But who knows, Acme may get back to me once the holiday cools down and bam next thing I know I'm pulling a 53 again and happy. We'll see.

Oh and thanks for more options. I see the trucks for all them and usually I forget by the time I get home who I saw. I want a local hauler and I see all those companies with day cabs so I'll take that list and research them.

I do see mclane trucks down here but they're hiring above Scranton. #### if I'm driving 2 1/2 hours to work each way.

I'm a former teamster member of local 463, which is basically a food workers union, and most of the jobs I mentioned pay around $24, with all the union perks, but like all union jobs, there is a starting rate. Wegmans is a local job and Walmart is OTR. So is Ashley. I'm, personally thinking about leaving USPS and work for Wegmans, because of the high earning potential that I heard.

Did something go south at 463 that made you leave? Is it a strong union?
