Mike1155. You Da Man !!!! If you can handle the city, you can handle anything . I've been in nyc about 15 times. There are many drivers who have never been there, and won't go. I've known of at least two that refused and were terminated at a company I worked for.

thinking about coming to cargo. i live right between winston and greensboro. a recruiter told me id be home weekends, like fri-sun or sat-mon.....so how realistic is this? got a wife and two small kids at home, got to keep them happy lol. also, the epicvue, its only 7 per week? does that include all equipment and TV?

Hey Mattfield. You heard correctly on both counts. However there is a $75 install fee for the epicvue. Yes, you will get home weekends. Really good company to work for. Been here three months and its been great. Come join us.

    Hey Mattfield.

Torres is right about the Epicvue. There is also free satellite radio, and they will install a fridge in your truck if you want it. The fridge will let you save some bucks by bringing your own food, always a consideration for young families. I save a ton just on sodas and water.

I worked out of Cargo's Winston yard for almost a year and liked it a lot. I've been with Cargo for a year and a half. They're good people, and, unusual in the trucking business, they do what they say they are going to.

Your weekends won't be a traditional 60 hour weekend, but the company is heavily structured around running their freight during the week, and you should get at least a 34. Thats better than some other companies in the area that claim to get you home weekends and then don't.

Cargo is the real deal. Come join us!

To tell the truth, they sometimes have a hard time finding you loads if you want to run the weekends. We are set up to be home then and most loads don't pick up until Sunday. But I will say I will NEVER work for another company with cameras in the truck! It's just to much hassle. Here lately they have become real A-holes about it. I'm sick of having to answer for the truck slamming on breaks and then getting "Coached" about following to close! I didn't slam on the brakes! Go coach the truck! I have been here for almost 2 years with out an accident. I'm sick of getting in trouble for some A-hole cutting me off!

Back at Claremont tonight. Just finished a trip to UPS Syracuse and a backhaul of brakedrums from Auburn NY. After midnight, head to Sara Lee in Valdese to drop a trailer of bread trays, then grab a load of bread headed to Food Lion DC in Dunn NC, then down to QVC Florence SC to UPS Maumee OH due Monday afternoon. No work during the weekends? They are keeping me hopping. I think I like it!!

Really appreciate your thread, I read to page 26 then jumped ahead to ask if training pay is still 17 cents per mile & does the student get paid for all the miles the truck does or just what he drives? Thanks
