i think I may be able to go solo next week or week after.

Trainer left me for a local job so I'm waiting for another to finish.

I'm fine in all skills except backing. I really struggle with that!

Any advice for a new solo driver?

Winter is around the corner. How was your first winter?

Most important advice I could possibly give is get out and look. If you aren't sure, get out and look. If you are sure, get out and look. It will definitely save your ### one day

10-4 on get out and look. Over. And. Over. I still do, and I've had my cdl since 2009 and been driving on the ranch long before that...

Tell your new trainer of your concerns, and make sure you are taught correctly BEFORE you go solo.

When I was learning to back, I realized that most of the time I was turning too much... Things got easier after that. There are times to turn a lot and times to be subtle

Well very very soon you'll be gettin a nice pay cheque instead of having to share it with someone else, the hard part is when we go solo is getting used to doing all the driving as it can get tiring week after week. All i can say is "Gitda-done" :)

If it's a no brainer don't bother, in doubt get out!

    Good luck!

Also, don't rush yourself just because some other truck is waiting on you. If he's in too big of a hurry to wait on you to safely get in a hole, let THAT douchebag back out and find another spot!
