We're pretty lucky in the Badger (weigh station wise) Years ago, there were a bunch of scales, maybe 20 or more, although, they were all pretty easy to get around. ( not like in a prairie state with no back roads). They've since closed and tore up most of them, and now maybe half a dozen or so. Granted, I don't truck anymore, but when I do drive my pickup around, most the time they are closed. They built a new, state of the art scale on I-90 westbound near Janesville, DOT inspection shack, and everything. ( at a cost of umpty million dollars), and I've never seen it open.

Hi tex, you know, years ago, I trucked with some great guys. The word "character" doesn't even scratch the surface. The miles flew by yakking and joking on the CB. And sometimes, I felt bad for some of the waitresses that served us, but they had a great sense of humor, and took our jokes with candor. Bunch of goof offs, it was great. And it was all ad lib, no rehearsing, just a bunch of good 'ol boys, ( sorry ladies, very few back then) mostly ex-farmers, doing what they loved. It's kind of sad, that's pretty much gone now. I'm glad I was a part of that. I'm sure rocknroll81( and many others here) knows all about this.

Had to add this, they put in Weight in Motion pads plus camera's on I-43 Northbound just past the first exit when coming off of I-90-I39 as I recall, it goes to the new Scale on Westbound I-90

    201 Thanks this.
