At what percent? $400 pay for a weeks vacation is a slap in the face... McDonalds is hiring....

If Swift is like other companies,he can take his vacation when he wants but hes going to get his pay now.

Thank you, pattyj, that is what confused me. I am used to getting paid when you request vacation time. So, i thought that by paying out his vacation, they basically were denying him extra days off.

Nope they'll let him take his vacation but keep in mind if its for like 7 days hes going to have to leave his trk at the terminal. When I was at a trking company,I received my vacation pay on my anniversary date and took a couple days off here and there till my full week of vacation was completed. So he can probably take his vacation that way as well whether then a full week.

I should have known better than to have posted the amount. It is a set amount. It is not based on his weekly pay

Do you really think $400 is an acceptable rate to pay an OTR driver for a weeks vacation? In case you didn't know most folks on this site hit "new posts" and read and reply to this posts, so trolling looking for "swift" posts not so much

What I think is irrelevant. It's the person that is receiving the pay have to make up their mind if that's worth it or not.

Well the OP said it was his first year with Swift. Assuming he is new to the industry, he should be able to find something better now.

What is the formula that they base your vacation pay on?
