Well here goes the update. Well passed the pre trip with flying colors. But didn't pass the backing part. To many pull ups. They only allow you 4 pull ups. These tankers got me out of practice back. Lol. But he told me that I did great on the pre trip and that I can apply again after a year, so that is my plan now. Good luck to everyone. Oh by the way( if you slid the tandems to the back it makes it a little easy, thats what he told me yesterday after we finish. Just keep that in mind for all you tanker driver that will apply.) Y'all be kool on your school I'm goin.

Sorry to hear the bad news TC, keep your head high and see you in a year. It will pass quickly and practice, even with the tanker. Later.

Thanks demi. I'm going to practice and give it a go next year.
TomOfTx, grabberblue12 and demi Thank this. -

Sorry to hear that.
Will they allow you to slide the tandems back? Is it still do able with the tandems slid forward? Or is that the only way you can back it in with the tandem slid back -
Passed the phone interview Tues. I am waiting for Seymour to call and schedule pretrip, road test, etc. Have to move down there from north of G.R. MI. Nervous but very excited to get this opportunity.

Yes, you can slide the tandems before backing if you choose. You can easily back in with the tandems slide up or back if you are set up correctly. If you are not used to backing a 53' trailer, it will be easier to control with the tandems slide all the way back to eliminate the trailer overhang. You will be graded on your backing the same whether the tandems are up or back, so if you have any doubts, play it safe and slide the tandems back. This is too good of a job opportunity to miss out on over something like where the tandems are set.
As many times as we back a trailer up each day, it will not take a driver long to easily back the trailer into a slot regardless of where the tandems are set.
Jwithrow, grabberblue12 and drozzer69 Thank this. -
I had Jeremy for my phone interview as well.TomOfTx Thanks this.
