2005 columbia electrical issue

    im a company driver. i have been driving truck for 2 months and im pretty sure truck has a "electrical gremlin" check engine light comes on but ill hit a bump and it will go off. i frequently lose random turn signals,headlights or tail lights and sometimes with a trailer the turn signals will work but dont show up on dash or stay on in the dash. i keep putting it in the shop they cant find an issue (i know electrical stuff is a PITA) and the starter was just replaced 2 months ago and i found the wires were loose. my question is did the starter possibly short the computer or could this be something else? the truck while old still doesnt have 600k and honestly its a great truck mechanically so i dont want to lose it yet. if anyone has had a similar issue and could point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.

    Water leaking into PDM (fuse box) from upper corner of passenger windshield seal. Common problem on Columbia. Have shop unplug a few connectors in fuse box. They will see green corrosion. Updated PDM has a 12 page "wire retrofit" instruction sheet. PITA to rewire. I have done at least 10 and I have it down to about 3 hrs. total.

    I have an 06 Century that had this kind of issue. I found water and frost dripping onto my B- Pillar Auxiliary Controls box. The cost was $125 at Freightliner for the module. Replacing it fixed my problem but I had to fix the water leak to prevent the new one from shorting out. To access it, you have to slide the driver seat forward and open the compartment door with a flat tip screw driver. It's held on by 4 bolts and 4 wiring harnesses with quick release connectors. It is easy to replace...and I mean simple as boiling water to replace. I had gauges that would drop out at random as well as transmission codes, engine brake relay codes and ABS codes. The ABS module is directly below the the Aux Module so naturally water drips on it causing the ABS alarm codes. If you are getting multiple codes at one time, you can troubleshoot it by disconnecting the top 2 harnesses, not the side ones, and most codes will disappear with exception of 2, HVAC Control and Trans Open.
