Moose, do give you a idea how Denver can be. Had a home time request in and Denver was like here is a load home but you have to BT 50 miles to pu this Safeway load and take it 4 miles and wait to get it unloaded and then you can have this load going home. If not then you can wait. So I waited. How many company trucks do you think that were probably just sitting there at the terminal. There was a rumor going around many months ago that the planners where told at the western terminals, utilize the company trucks better and use the L/O to pick up the slack. Denver and Tracy are very good at this.

Did a MAC 30 this morning and offered 3 loads. Two of them were Sear's for 400 miles for tomorrow afternoon into WY and SD and one for Cabelas for Tualitin for Sunday morning, 5K for almost 1300 miles. Took that one. Do not like that area but have to do what have to do. Now just hope that not get stuck up there and that my mt waiting there is not a container again.

Back in Cheyenne. I have until 1300 Sunday to get there and wanted to wait for the winds to die down a little more. Already a back up, Georgia Pacific, about 19K, back to Walmart in Cheyenne for Wednesday morning. Then I think probably another Cabelas load since we are now dedicated to their whole operation. From what I was told, Werner was kicked out and we were brought in.

I really hope I'm good with the weight on this load. I had to move the tandems back to the 7th hole, and I'm going into CA.
I measured it, 10 feet from the back of the trailer, but...
And even then I might be a few pounds over 34k back there.

I'm headed to Otay Mesa to t-call it, as it is going into Mexico. Lots of time to deliver, so I pushed out the delivery until Sunday morning because I didn't want to get in that area Saturday night and not have a place to park.

My internet sucks here. I have a 4G signal, but it is very slow.

Willard, UT. So happy that the winds stopped when I left out this morning. Up to about 8.1mpg right now. Need to get some fuel in the morning before get into OR. Tremonton, UT where it is about $2.39/gal compare to about $2.58gal here and then top off again in ID so that can get into and out of OR without buying any fuel. Next stop either Arrowhead or Space Age tomorrow.

Slow internet, again. But it's usable.

I have a heavy load of particle board headed to Mexico. I'm t-calling it in Otay Mesa Sunday morning.
The problem is the weight distribution, and I hope I'm OK in CA.
The tandems are 7 holes back, which seems like a lot. But when I actually measure from either end I seem to be good - barely. I'm at 33,980 back there. I really wish Swift would put a 40 foot marker on more of the trailers.

I got a QC message yesterday that informed me that everyone had to get to the Phoenix terminal to take a class within the next 2 weeks. No mention of what that class is.
    It's a 30 minute class.
I'm wondering how many others got that message.
Thousands of drivers headed to Phoenix in the next 2 weeks for a 30 minute class? How will that play out.

I'm also thinking it is something to do with the spy cameras soon to be installed in all the trucks.

They will probably explain it and then require us to sign something saying we accept it.

    The thing is...
What about their end of the agreement?
I have been told that Swift can not access the camera directly, that they can not simply 'watch in' whenever they want. I have been told that only critical events will set it off and send the video.

I'm wondering if what they want me to sign will also include certain stipulations pertaining to Swift's watching me whenever they want to, or the other company for that matter.
I know what these cameras are capable of, with only a flip of a switch.

When I sign something it becomes a contract.
But that contract should go both ways.

If it does not include that stuff I will request to see Jerry myself, because I have a problem with open ended contracts.

How many of you are with me on this?

For the third time in 5 years ... taking a voluntary 34.

Unloaded yesterday, with 8 hours left, no hours coming back today and 5 hours tomorrow.

Scored a mac 30 ... picking up last night. 200 miles away and 730 miles, deliver Monday morning ... Figured after the pu, I could knock 500 miles or so out of it over the weekend and then roll in the last 200 or so Monday.

Then in a flash of brilliance ... figured if I can run at least 80 miles off of it after I got loaded, I can do a 34 over Saturday. Then have the hours to run it all the way in on Sunday and set up for delivery Monday first thing ... already booked with a Command load picking up Monday running 600 miles, delivering Tuesday.

    Moosetek13 Thanks this.

Arrowhead Truck Stop. So glad that I got fuel in UT at $2.43/gal before got to ID. Even the cheapest mom and pop, $2.80/gal. Mystic, what is a flash of brilliance from you. I have mostly given up on Command. My agent always sends me a message asking for a update and tell her where I will be mt a couple of days in advance. Then on the day that I get mt, I get a message, update. By then it is usually to late. Even when go home to Ohio, tell her on Tuesday that need a load for Friday and then on Friday she will ask if still looking. Ohio is one of their strong areas, except for freight on a Friday that can run ALL weekend. Normally always short stuff.

I stay in constant contact with Command ... multiple calls a day.

Yeah. as rule Command's weekend loads aren't that great ... I can get one that works occasionally. But, for the most part, I run Swift over the weekend and Command during the week.
