Any specific intermodal companies that are regard as the best?
Im looking to get into intermodal as a company driver an after a couple of months buy my own truck.
Any specific Chicago companies that would take someone with two years driving experience but none in intermodal? -
If you want to learn, I would start with the Mega's and go from there (SNI and JB pull private chassis so, no holdups) .....O/O....I'd tell you the one I work for (Kiswani) but don't know if their taking more O/O now....I've heard decent things about Adrian Carriers...but that's about it....contact JJKid on here at TTR, he knows more local companies...call around, you might be able to get on with one that pays hourly.....Bedford Freight ....I think, there's others (check out Craigslist, but REALLY check the companies out BEFORE you sign on)....
There are plenty of bad ones around...
The best ones are local though...don't know of any national ones I would recommend..... -
It seems that the better companies all want someone with intermodal experience. I know all the megas would take me but I know I can't go back to that type of micro managed environment. I mean, if the pay was reasonable I would try and grind it out but it's not.
Excel looks like a perfect fit for me but its in Lemot which is a bit of a drive for me. -
