Chewy , you should have no problems with that route . Definitely DOT approved truck routing . But please be advised that all of the bridges from New Jersey into Staten Island have extremely narrow travel lanes and trucks are only allowed in the right lane . I have seen more than one driver knock their passenger side mirror off their cab due to bridge structure and nervous four wheelers in the left lane who need to place themselves on the dotted lines . That being said , Staten Island is a piece of cake to drive in compared to every other borough . Good luck .

Sounds like the #### 4 wheelers need to learn when not to pass. Thanks for the heads up

I don't do it but some block both lanes to prevent passing; in my experience, only those who know their vehicle really well even try to pass a rig on the bridge.

I'll judge it when I see it but I'm thinking I'll keep 5 wheels in the other lane.

There are crazy signs on that Staten Island route that say trucks over 12' must exit......DON'T. I guess if I was forced to go there, I'd take I-95 NJTP to exit 13 and do the loop de loop to get on I-278 east...still toll... then take that to exit 5 south onto hwy 440.....then to exit 7. I'm not sure where it is on Staten Island where you feel like you've driven into Bangladesh, but it gets pretty crazy in a hurry. Maybe a local can tell you??

I have been lurking for some time and joined when I saw this thread. OP you will be fine. That area part of 440 moved pretty good most of the time. Sunday should be a breeze. I assume you are going to Pratt or the Con-ed plant I don't know how fast either will load you on Sunday. During the week it's pretty good.. That part of Victory blvd is mostly industrial and the road is pretty broken up. Good luck.

Chewy i live right across the bayonne bridge in nj been to staten island a alot. your route is fine my guess is your picking up at the recycling place on victory blvd? they all take 278 to 440 exit 7 just stay right outerbridge is about the width of a trailer plus maybe 6 inches. the bayonne bridge is closed m-f daily between 9am-3pm and usually closed all weekend for construction. not sure about i pass but tolls here are crazy its $95 for all 5 axle vehicles crossing from nj to ny buts its only a 1 way toll gonna cost you 40 to get into and out of jersey from pa though.

Going to pratt. Not too worried on time. I'll deliver near Youngstown ohio Monday morning and it'll be late Monday morning or afternoon before dispatch finds me another load.
