Good Night From II

Las Vegas for a 34 seeing if I can supplement my income a bit this weekend lol. Off to a good start so far and will be heading out of here monday will probably be offered loads keeping me in general area since my home time is in San Diego on the 18th.

 

Not a fun weekend for me. Got home at noon yesterday. Was planning to have a fun evening at my wife's 30th high school reunion that she had done all the planning and arranging for months to put on. Unfortunately, she has had some abdominal pains for the last few days and shortly after arriving at the reunion, the pain was getting too unbearable so I took her to the ER. Tests show that her gall bladder is inflamed and it looks like they will be doing some surgery this morning. Could really use some prayers this morning, guys.

 

Sorry to hear about your wife. My thoughts will be with her and you today. Hang in there and please post an update when you have the time.

 

Thanks. She is out of surgery now and back in her room doing fine. But my anxiety continues. I just don't know what to do. I'm supposed to pick up a load tomorrow, but she won't be released until sometime tomorrow and even then she will have to take it easy for a few days. I need to stay here with her...but I need to get back on the road too.

 

You stay with your wife, Swift will understand. Let them know now you won't be there.

 

Ok. So I called after hours in Memphis. What a joy that was. Explained to them what was going on and that I needed my load taken off. I will call my DM tomorrow also. They are saying my wife can come home tomorrow so that is good. My daughter is gonna take a few days off work to take care of her mom, so I will be able to get back out on Tuesday. Of course my thoughts and my heart will be home with her, but I can't afford to stay home. And she wouldn't want me to anyway.

 

I'm glad she is OK, Dodgeram, also that your daughter is around to take care of her.

T-called my load this morning and then waited for something to turn up.

I'm headed back to Sparks, NV; picking up in Ontario tomorrow at 0800 for a live load.
That means a very early start so I can swing by the terminal for an mt. Out of here at 0400, hopefully giving enough time for some rush hour traffic. At least it isn't into the actual L.A. area, but just the outskirts.

And, yuk, a high val load so I have to drive 200 miles before I can stop.

Here's to hoping I get a load headed east from there. I've had enough of CA for a while.

 

Terminal in Troutdale. Was planning on getting back to Arrowhead but after almost 4 hours getting loaded shot that plan. Now just hope that in the morning the winds are the same that they were today. 10mph gusting to 20 out of the West. It made for a fun morning along the Hood river with those gusts. Have until Wednesday to get to Walmart in Cheyenne. Not like in any rush and then to Denver. Have to take a group log class. What did I do now.

 

Still near Kansas City. Got unloaded last night at the Earl Distributors (McDonalds). Was at the yard but drove here to Oak Grove because of the stinch.
Turned down a load that didn't load till the morning of the 14th. This afternoon the "planner" tried giving me a load (250 mt & 250 ld) that ran overnight for delivary at 0700 on the 14th. He said in planners special comments "I'll pay you loaded miles for the mt miles." I said, "No thank you because I don't do any runs that have a planners special comments message. Period! Been there and not going there again. And besides, why didn't you just send that to me earlier so I could have gotten sleep today?" WTF?
Now for some odd reason, my mac34 return pta and mac30 aren't sending back messages to me. I think something is fishy!! Gotta love Edwardsville!
