When I was a rookie driver I used to be scared of the Outerbridge and Gotheals too.I go over it so much now It's like any other road now it doesn't even phase me. NYC traffic in it's entirety doesn't bother me any more. It is what it is.

Running Long Island isn't terrible. I ran Long Island on a near daily basis for a while years ago. Not sure how it is now. I don't go much further than Inwood lately.

Well I made it in and out no problems. On the way in traffic wasn't bad at all on the bridge so I just ran my drivers side on the line. On the way out it was heavy traffic in a big hurry so I took both lanes. 440 was fairly smooth. It looks like it was resurfaced recently and is deeply groved but still smooth. 33 in pa was a nice drive. Some minor construction but nothing that should delay anyone.

Now I can't wait to get this friggin trash off my trailer. I'm in Youngstown oh now and it is still dripping.

Thanks everyone for the responses and advice.

The problem with both of those bridges is the lanes are only 10 feet wide.

Federal freeway standards of course call for 12, but those bridges both went up while Calvin Coolidge was President.

I Outerbridge is wider than the Gotheals. Since construction on a new one is underway it won't be an issue much longer.
