XPO has never had any trucks till this acquisition. It's been a brokerage until this purchase.

 

I wonder why they are hiring drivers and what company you actually hire onto if hired?

They own Jacobson of Des Moines IA.

Ah, after further review of the website it actually appears to be Jacobson Companies out of Iowa. An interesting thing is the Norbert company bought Jacobson, but then XPO bought Norbert, and a year earlier or whatever Norbert bought Schneider Logistics freight forwarding division in the US andChina (http://www.logisticsmgmt.com/article/norbert_dentressangle_acquires_jacobson_companies)

 

XPO still does expedite, but that division is owner operators. It will be interesting to see how they treat drivers employed by their company.

 

I've got no skin in the game, but I'll be very interested to see it too.
