He was less than an eighth of a mile from his terminal. Happened right in front of us at CDL school. Good dose of reality.

What the fudge??!? Was this another student? What the heck caused it (besides lack of brain cells....)
Inquiring minds want to KNOW!!!! lol -
No it was not a student. I'm a student but it happened about a half a block away while we were out practicing blind side parallel. I heard several "oh ####!" and when I looked over I just saw him already tipped over and sliding a little bit. Me and two other students ran over and as we got there the driver was climbing out. We yelled at him to turn the engine off because something was smoking. As soon as he turned it off I saw it just start spitting all the oil out from underneath. Once he got out, I asked him if anyone else was in the cab and he said no. He was holding his arm and said he thinks his shoulder was broken. He was very shaken up. I asked him "were you going too fast?" and driver said "I guess I was." Once the cop arrived, I heard him ask the driver "How old are you?" Driver said 22. I think they said it was about 40k of scrap metal in the trailer. Like I said above, this was a hefty dose of reality for me being that I'm in cdl school and this happens right in front of us.
Big Don, truckerlife74, Mudguppy and 1 other person Thank this. -
If you zoom in on his shoulder, you can see that it's broke.
