Yeah I've been kinda getting the run around with Driver Services though haha
-Went to Gary, then they told me I couldn't upgrade there. Went to my brothers wedding, 4 days off.
-Mentor and I teamed to Laredo, then found out I couldn't upgrade there either.
-Teamed up to Greer, got my written test in and sitting in a hotel for the night. Taking my road test tomorrow.
hopefully I don't hit #### and I'll be solo at last lol

Kind courtesy and a can do attitude will take you a long way no matter what company. And on time will always help you stand out. Remeber your on a phone with them and they have to deal with other drivers that are ### holes that probably cussin and fussin on every load. Plus you will get home on time or early when needed

My husband was in Oregon over a holiday, think it was Easter? Anyway, his truck was down, had to go in the shop. The mechanic wasn't happy at working on a holiday, hubby wasn't happy at being in the shop on a holiday. He ordered a couple of pizzas and shared it with the mechanic and whoever else was in the shop. They were so appreciative! His truck was fixed pretty quickly, and the next time he was at the yard they remembered him and helped him with what he needed pretty quickly. It sounds like a little bit of friendliness goes a long way in certain situations

It's worth mentioning that your DM at swift has very little to do with loads. Some of them with time under their belts are in good with planners, but mostly it's the planners that give you loads.

Being proactive and one step ahead is your biggest ally, find out who plans the area you're gonna be in if you're almost there and don't have a load.

If you're platinum, use that mac 30!

As a nuclear option, use your dm, but alot of times all they can do is "message the planner" you can call them and get things done quicker. Almost all terminals when you call them have a planner option on the main menu.

When freight is hopping though and you've shown you can get freight delivered on time and don't refuse many loads, you won't have much to worry about.

I know for a fact that the scale house in Whitehorse, Yukon makes coffee for drivers all the time. They ask a small donation, very friendly folks up in the Great White North.

I got 3,000K/month for 13 months from the Swifties, and all I had to do was be reliable and safe. Never was very good at kissing the dark spot.
