Having transmission problems on four M Business Class straight trucks.
The transmissions are the MBT660-60a (Mercedes Auto) 6 spd automatics.
All four trannies would slip out of gear to nuetral and would not re-engage to a lower gear or any gear.
This is really odd since it happened to four trucks within a week of each other.
After repairs were made by Frieghtliner, all four trucks developed other transmission problems ranging from computer failure to bearing freeze.
I would be interested in hearing from other owners of trucks with these types of problems with this transmission.
Thanks

transmition trouble again
did you get any satisfaction from
freightliner or merceds on your 4 probimatic trannies ? -
I am experiencing a recurring problem.
The inner wheel seals on steer tires are failing contaminating the brakes and requiring new seal and new brake job. It's happened twice in a year. I replaced the right seal along with new brakes to the right side in the spring. 5 months later it's leaking again.
So I replaced the hub assembly which includes bearing and race and new seals this time on the right steer today. Now I noticed the
other side is leaking and has contaminated the brake shoes again. Guess I need to replace the hub on the left side as well.
Hub assembly is only $250. Plus install. I'm thinking it's not a bad idea to put new bearing on an axle that has been driven over a million miles.
It's a 2001 century.
All inputs are appreciated. -
