That's hilarious!!!....and oddly made me think of @Chinatown -
Multiple choice response on this one folks. (1) It is always about ME ME ME or (2) Ya gotta do something to be appreciated. Whining isn't on the list.
I'm coming off a lousy trip to Music City and back. I would bet that I passed 100 _ _ _ wipes (in big trucks) on the right because they were being stupid and riding in the center lane for no reason. I'm stepping out before I get banned this morning. Drive safelyCanned Spam Thanks this. -
you wouldn't be the ONLY driver, passing Arse-wipes on the right.....i've done it so many times, it ain't no crime....Canned Spam Thanks this.

(This Reply is actually for you this time!)
Would it help if I told you we also handed out swag, and had drawings for 10 $50 and 5 $100 gift cards, a blue tooth stereo system, an iPod with prepaid music subscription, and a new Flat Screen TV for your truck? And that we grilled steaks for lunch all week instead of for one hour, one day? Probably not.
But at the end of the day, it's a business. (At our company -can't speak for the bad ones out there) There was an agreement about compensation, what the benefits are, why you should want to work here, and you agreed. Assuming we are keeping all of our promises, shouldn't that actually be icing on the cake? I am sure there are companies out there that don't do anything but pay lip service to Trucker Appreciation week, but we know all our guys by name, and we tried to make it special. That is no BS. We take care of our guys when they are sick, when they are out for surgery, when they have family issues - we don't run them off. Unless you break the trust, you will always have your spot here. We show our appreciation all of the time, we have some of the best healthcare benefits to help you take care of your family. We have new equipment, new trucks, new trailers, and we always will for our OTR guys. We don't run a leasing program - we aren't tricking drivers into paying for our trucks while they go broke.
One last thing you might appreciate - here in the office, we are grilling the steaks all afternoon, but not eating them . I had Taco Bell and watched our drivers cut into our best 16oz Ribeyes! lol
This is what we have been serving- from our new retail website: http://www.myfreshsteaks.com/
I'm just saying, it wasn't bottom shelf.
If you feel like Driver Appreciation Week is just lip service, or you really aren't appreciated where you are at, I would say you are right. That company isn't doing something right by its drivers. I just wish we had more drivers here that were more active online and in social media, so you could hear it from them more than me!
-Off my "I don't know what I am talking about" pedestal"dedrouteCO, Canned Spam and Chewy352 Thank this.
