hey all, just left training in laurinsburg, I cant believe I had to leave just before glass securement. I completely lucked into a dedicated run from detroit to cincinatti as a rookie driver with a small company. We were the last orientation out of laurinsburg. I have nothing but great things to say about these people. Itold them when the other job offer came in and to my suprise, a handshake, goodluck, and your welcome back anytime. I felt so bad about leaving and wasting their money, Ioffered to pay my own way back, but they wouldnt take it. My check was deposited on time with no bs deductions. If any of you guys read this, thanks again. If youve got your stuff together Iwould highly recommend this company. Ileft Tmc orientation because of the Maverick offer and it was like night and day. I will be a better driver because of those people at Mav. And to Careylynn, I hope it all works out for ya, you earned it. If this company goes down Ill be back at specialized in a heartbeat.

    Big Duker Thanks this.

Hey tileguyz, don't know for sure who you were there last week in Laurinburg, the Maverick van driver?? Anyway, sounds like you fell into a good deal, and you avoided sweating your way through glass class. Lucky you! Just finished my first week with trainer, went real well, took 2 loads to Florida, sweating even worse down there! All the best to you, apply all you learned from Maverick, and you'll do fine!

Glad to hear you are doing well with your trainer. Say Hi to Matt for me, he was my trainer as well. I am currently sitting at home having left the Mavervick family this morning. My FM did a great job getting on the bus and headed toward the"Island"(no not Staten Is. either) I guess the stress and the responsibility got the best of me, I delievered my one any only load on monday and called it quits. Met alot of quaility people along the way and I got my one load there safe and early, I can rest now! Good-nite folks "bug" from Long Island is north bound,er home bound.:biggrin_25512:

Hey bug, sorry to hear of your situation, but we all gotta make decisions that are best for each of us! How's the stress level this weekend compared to last??:biggrin_2551: Have never been to Long Island, nor NYC for that matter, not looking forward to driving there either. Matt is an excellent trainer, getting lots of drive time, and this brain is maxed out with information. Still loving it, don't care so much for the sweat factor & limited shower time but never a moment of regret for choosing this path! I am luckier than most tho, as I have few other distractions to channel my energy into. Enjoy your idle time now, then get your ### in gear again!! :yes2557:

Im Going To School Here In Michigan July 7, Stuck Between Maverick And Tmc Does Maverick Have Inverters For Fridge And Tvs Or Do You Even Need One?? Does Tmc Have Fridges And Tvs, I Heard Alot Of Guys Use Plug In Coolers And Slow Cookers.
Also I Live Near Detroit And Maverick Only Offers Me Specialized, I Heard Theres A Glass Factory In Geneva Ny And Hauls Alot To Ontario, Which Is Perfect For Me But I Heard You Have To Tear Down The Trailer And Modify It For Other Loads, At .41 Cents A Mile Start Out Im Guessing You Dont Average That Many Miles?? And Some People Say Its A Whole Lotta Work

Hey phcat, I just finished up with Maverick specialized last week. I'll tell ya anything you want to know. I had an old "pumpkin" truck with 500k miles on it when I dropped off in Upstate NY. It had a "air leak" problem that took 3 shops to fix, finally found out it needed a new air compresser! Low air would come on when backing or sitting for awhile, scary when them parking breaks came on at a t/s or cust. dock! And one thing to remember 'bout glass it "breaks"! You have to drive slower and watch your trailer tires, trust me on that one. The trailers, well let's just say their old Schneider's too! Any thing else just ask away! Not everyone can haul glass! bug-out:biggrin_25525:
