I never drove for them. But I believe they are primarily a team operation. Meaning, you'll be paired with another driver. You'll get the benefits of their snoring while you drive. The great aroma of farts wafting out from the bunk. Smelly feet. Maybe your partner will insist on sleeping in the nude. No. He never kicks the covers off in his sleep. Oh! And lets not forget, your life will be in his hands while you're sleeping. Or, trying to sleep, anyway. A prison cell is larger than a truck. But prisons let you out of your cell more than trucking companies do. Just something to think about.

Beware of Covenant. It is a religiously run and motivated company. If you are a right-wing, ultra-conservative, VERY religious Christian who believes that as a driver you should do everything you can to recruit people to your faith and preach your morals to people... well, then this is a perfect company for you.

However, if you believe that a company should mind their own business and do nothing more than help you earn a good living, then this company is not for you.

On a more objective scale, I've been told by former drivers that their pay is not good (filter won't let me say the S-word) and even if you're a good christian they can get on your nerves about it by being overzealous and almost seeming like a cult. YMMV

Many people drive for them because of their religious views. To each their own. But to a large portion of the trucking world Covenant is viewed as distasteful and disreputable.

I used to work for them for about 2 years.

They are a basic mega carrier with all the usual complaints from unhappy people. I had a pretty cool codriver and made good money. Their pay is fair and benefits ok. Matching 401k.

Covenant....they haul God's freight and have anti-abortion decals on basically every trailer. Thew few times I've run across a Covenant driver, he'd have drowned if it were raining at the time.

My friend who works there is liberal and very openly gay... not saying y'all are wrong, but they don't force their beliefs on you. Pretty sure there's laws against that.

Anyway, to the OP, it's a whiz quiz only. Best of luck at your new job. ....and get HazMat if you don't already. Rarely haul it but it puts you in a higher pay bracket.
