I find the majority of my problems mid-day... not in the morning, or at night.

I'm always scanning and checking for problems as I walk by and around when I'm outside the cab.

As far as pretrip/post trip... I , for 26 years have always done the pretrip and logged it that way. Only recently has my employer started requiring a post trip be included. I do a quick check and log 3-4 min on the EOBR for it. Sure beats a 15min block on paper!!

Well said, Jammer. I do that too. I think of it as "pay attention, Jim." I rarely have a delay caused by my own choices, and I think paying attention to my truck, trailer and cargo make a difference. A positive difference. I think it's funny. We're required to do our inspections and log them, but I/we live in our trucks and I'm inspecting it every time I stop. If I was to log all those times, I'd have very low hours for things like driving.

I try to take a lights on walk around before I leave. Only takes 1 minute, and if I find a light out, I have saved big time on csa points.
