Thanks Hammer. Been out of the loop for a few. And yes I agree it is a very subjective number. It is good practice to do your best to get close to the Ford American Road adjuster. And, also when a claim is inevitable, get with the dealer to keep it out of the claims system and bill you at their internal body shop rate.

Well my first damage has been done..
I had 2015 Dodge Caravans that were a dealer swap, when I arrived on the other end to unload I found that the Caravan that was in the middle 2nd level (backed on) had windshield damage...
Now being it was backed on and had two 1/2 dollar size dings in the windshield all I can think of was falling debris off an overpass or something ??
I do know they were not there when I loaded that I am positive of...I can't for the life of me figure out how a windshield facing backwards gets damaged like that..
Anyway, boss man said they'd cover it and said road damage thats out of my control I don't have to pay for.. -
Pretty stand up thing to do, to post your first damage story on-line, TallMike. Anyone who has hauled a car and said they've never had a damage is full of hooey.
Do you have pictures of the load, or pictures of the damaged glass ? If you could post them, it might help us to figure out what may have caused the damage. If no pictures, what did the damage look like aside from 'dings' ? Like rock hit's that 'star' glass ? Did they spread ? Were they deep impacts ? Do you, or your carrier have known enemies near your loading point/railhead ? -
I'll post some pics when I get to the house on a computer...
They looked like your typical rock hits too me..
We're pretty small no known enemies......yetPullin2 Thanks this. -
Hey TM, I "might" have an answer for you, we just had a Caravan on backwards on the lift with similar damage, did you remove the antenna?truckon Thanks this. -
I'm still thinking rocks or debris from an overpass...Have not heard anything more about it.KANSAS TRANSIT Thanks this.
