TMC starts out at 38, per the recruiter. Prime is 45. That seems better to me.darthanubis and DocMarten Thank this.

"The speed of the trucks"
Oh FFS.Poacher Thanks this. -
Let's explore that a little bit - let's say that at TMC, you can run 65mph. That's another 3mph, at full running speed, compared to Prime. Let's say that we can run 10 hours average of driving time a day for 6 days a week (for the sake of discussion, we'll keep it a nice easy number - although we all know real world numbers won't necessarily be so rounded or generous). We'll say each company driver does the exact same number of driving hours in the same conditions- again, so everything's as fair as we can be, on our comparison.
That's 30 miles a day extra, 180 miles a week extra. Prime pays 7cpm more when compared to TMC, according to Poacher.
The math:
- The Prime scenario: 62mph * 10 hours a day = 620 miles per day. With Prime's 45cpm, that's about $279, * 6 days per week = $1674 per week.
- The TMC scenario: 65mph * 10 hours a day = 650 miles per day. With TMC's .38cpm, that's about $247 per day, * 6 days per week =$1482 per week.
You'd need 40cpm & 70 mph (or another combination of sorts) to beat the Prime driver. And let's not forget fuel and other bonuses...Last edited: Sep 20, 2015

Exactly. You can get another 5 cents per mile fuel bonus. I think it's 5, I could be wrong though
But I'm going to do whatever to get in a truck. Even if I have to drive for Swi, Swi, oh Lord I can't even say it.

Well done!
Hopefully, this ends the asinine whine about slow trucks. But I know it won't.Poacher Thanks this. -

You will not get high miles with TMC unless you choose % pay. If you choose miles you get expensive short runs like noted above so forget averaging that many miles at TMC.
Poacher Thanks this. -
Yeah I figure it will all pretty much balance out. But from all I read I hear take the percentage. I'm not giving up on Prime yet.

My friend took % and couldn't raise a family on it. Now he is driving a concreter truck where I worked making close to 70k.
