    Wouldn't that be abandonment?

I've got stuff in there anyway.

I'm tempted to bobtail up there and turn the truck in. At least my car is still there so I can get home. But I need a job to come home to. Can't afford to be out of work. At least I get training pay (I guess since I apparently I'm still in training...) in the intrum.

Hi tex, be aware, you haven't even started yet, and they are pulling this jive. Don't be dismayed. Like you say, you've gone this far, and any action you do now may jeopardize your future. You may as well do the minimum, and then find a better place. ( it may be 6 months, but at least you are gaining experience. If not only driving, what shysters these companies are) And they wonder why they can't find drivers. Good luck, hang in there.

Think about it,it's only fair since you're still in training status why would you wanna drive as qualified. How long have you been driving solo before prime did this?I don't know that's how I would be doing it anyway.Companies do far too many stupid things and the driver is the one who pays for it and the stupid person don't get reprimanded for it.You might as well learn now to fight fire with fire otherwise they're going to think they can do whatever they want.

There is nothing that infuriates me more than mindless bureaucracy. The computer, for some reason that no one can explain, says you need another month of training so that is what MUST happen. The computer says it is necessary and no one is allowed to apply rational thinking. So now you MUST drive your company issued truck back to the terminal, BY YOURSELF NO-LESS, so they can finish teaching you how to drive the truck. Because that's what the computer says to do.

I hate to tell you this, but this is the kind of thing that you need to expect for the rest of your career at Prime (or any other mega carrier). Some people can not think for themselves and those type of people both require and thrive in this type of heavily structured and redundant-rule-laden environment.

Personally, I would rather whack myself repeatedly in the forehead with a ball peen hammer than deal with this lunacy on a daily basis. I've been reading your posts OP, and you seem like a very smart and motivated guy. Like you said, if you jump ship now you'll just have to start training again somewhere else. It's a tough position to be in, and I sympathize with you. If it were me, I'd grit my teeth a bare it until I had 6 months experience then find a better job and never look back. Best of luck with whatever you decide.

Whatever you do, think it through. You've already invested a lot of time here, you don't want to throw it all down the tubes over bad advice and snap judgements.

I'd have a face to face with your new FM asap before making your next move. Sucks that had to happen to you though. I'm sure it can be rectified somehow. GL :(

I successfully delivered a load to Fort Worth, TX then had to put my truck in the shop (and that took a frickin' week). Now I get a call to come back for more training. It's BS. I'm trying to get a hold of my old boss to see if they will take me back, but don't know if I can get in today.

I agree with Michael on not quitting since you've invested so much time already starting with the application process but I feel my advice isn't bad because you're just standing your ground and more drivers need to if they wanna get anywhere in this biz.

Before you 'bare' it check your spelling. If you 'bear' it at least you won't get arrested for indecent exposure

Yeah. I don't know. My mom always said to "never make a major life decision in an emotional state" but I have a feeling that I'm not going to be any less pissed when I go back up to Springfield.
