You are young if you think "right to work" means that. It means you cant be forced into a Union and they can fire you anytime without notice as you can quit the same. But then again, you signed an agreement stating you would give notice. Hence the $500 fine. Sheez. How old are you? Every mature person knows to give notice to resign. Come on now. You're giving Truckers a bad name here!

Note: Crashes listed represent a motor carrier’s involvement in reportable crashes, without any determination as to responsibility.
Besides, I am quite sure those numbers overlap one another in alot of cases. 1 dead, 3+ injured and number of vehicles towed from scene. All relative and not to be taken as a whole sum by each. Let's not exaggerate the facts. -
Really? .....
Maybe you should ask around to see how many drivers give a two week notice of intent these days
.... If the company is a right to work company and they can fire the driver for any reason
... The flip side of that is
The driver can also quit without a reason... Unless of course the company has a self serving policy like the one you're talking about
.....at least they are man enough to try it in the day light , but if ask me that's a real chicken #### way to be -
More than likely this company just don't want to pay
.... Send em message for us
" this is not welfare " -
Most Companies expect you to give notice to the one you're leaving. If you just quit and hire on with another without notice, what are you telling your new Company? You're telling them you're not a stable and mature person to begin with, and you will more than likely quit on them the same way. Nobody wants to hire any person with a history of just quitting on a whim.
These Companies do contact you former Employers to see how you were when working for them. You may get away with just upping and walking away from one, but if you keep doing it, nobody will touch you. That's a chicken crap way of work habits. I wouldnt ever hire anyone who quit without notice. And I have refuse to hire people for that reason before I became a Driver. It's called maturity. -
Sounds like you are looking for a Welfare Company to me. Meaning that you want everything your way and dont feel like you should have to put in effort into anything you do. You just want to say, "Give me, give me", and, "I want, I want". Sadly, life Dont out like that.
I want a new T680, with a APU and a East coast to West coast runs only with .45+ cmp. Three weeks out and three days off. I dont see that happening to soon, so I'll make do with what I have until I find that sweet job.
Maybe it's just a age thing? Im 43 and I get a feeling the ones one here are much younger. These younger, self entitled kids are the problem everywhere. They expect everything to be handed to them on a platter without any effort given in return. Poor Parenting by their Parents. -
.... I can see doing that on local job but most cases don't work out giving a two week notice with an OTR outfit
.... Of course I haven't done OTR in long time and won't be doing any OTR any time soonThe Patriot Thanks this. -
.... I'm pretty simple and comfortable in my own skin to me if it smells like #### I don't waste my time on it
.... Maybe that's why I'm happy working where I do -
Not childish pal and have the years to back it up with a clear CSA which is in high demand these days.
Cannot do OTR due to war nerves but that being said was hired to do dedicated only and explained this all to them.
Maybe I am wrong but you say one thing and go way overboard to defend CE. Also the name...'unhappytrucker'....really? lol
Now to the facts....if you really think CE offers better than average pay and treats drivers good...you must be smoking something illegal.
The reason some run "outlaw" is because the management pushes it.
Love how you try to explain away accidents but if what you say is fact then every company would have as bad a record as CE. The fact is many CE drivers do not know how to drive because CE, more times than not, hires everyone's rejects because they know they do not have much of a choice in the industry on where to go. Sometimes they do get good drivers, like my co-driver and I, and they leave soon after. -
Yep they are real works or art.
Here was another thing I need to toss in there.
When hired I told CE that I had an upcoming date when I needed off a couple of days, probably around the 4th of July to receive a Purple Heart which I never received after I was injured in combat and had just put off getting... but due to the insistence of my family I did respond and the Army actually set up an awards ceremony for other guys and gals like myself to receive medals they might not had gotten at a close Army base. I let CE know two months in advance. When they fired my co-driver it was relayed to me that the owner insisted if I wanted to stay that I would be running all through the Fourth and no medal for me. Told those aholes to kiss the North end of a Southbound horse. Of course after telling them that many folks might not take kindly to this after I toss out a few posts on social media about this...they recanted and said I could run this Odd Lots dedicated when I came back which was fine. That run lasted from Odd Lots in Columbus to Wis...then thrown on the OTR board. I was even nice enough to play their game for two days. Called and told I HAD to do OTR. Sent a Qualcomm message all in bold "GET LOAD HOME, I RESIGN"
