I too have a clean CSA score and DAC.
I too am a Combat Vet, War nerves dont work on me. Gotta man up!
I dont think Im going overboard to defend anyone. I just hate it when someone that only works somewhere a very short time, then quits without notice cries like a baby about that Company. It takes time to adjust to a new place. Say three to six months to get a real feel of it.
Only thing I can say bad about them is they way they Dispatch. Had that been your whole statement against them, I'd agree and buy you a Beer.
The "UnhappyTrucker" name was made back in 2013, when I made my account and drove for Stevens. I've tried to change it to something else, but cant find where to do it.
The pay is better than average. National average is below .45cpm. More like .38 cpm I believe. But I really dont care about pay as I have no bills. Havent even touched something like my last 10-12 pay checks. But thats me.
I will agree that CE "may" hire some last chance Drivers with less than clean records. But thats them and their Drivers. Has nothing to do with me, nor the way I drive.
A DM can try to push a Driver to do anything. If that Driver is weak and does what he knows is wrong, thats on the poor Driver. I stand my ground and have cussed a many DM's out over it. Most DM's at CE probably think Im a pain in their butts. Thats fine. I drive clean and always will. Gotta stand-up for yourself, all DM's everywhere are pretty much the same.
I for one will be glad when everyone has to run ELD's, will be interesting to watch to say the least!

Nothing to do with 'manning up' just hate getting the shaft and refuse as a civi to do it or work for disloyal companies. BTW not crying, just pointing out another crap company. Their pay is pretty low when you consider years of experience. Now for a newbie it might be good. I usually get paid per route scale or by the hour. Best way to get paid really.

Could have just had your Purple Heart mailed to you, I did. Standing in a pretty line in a Uniform dont make you any money. I grew tired of Awards myself after my fourth row was added. To much of a pain to pin them on and upgrade the tree constantly. I turned down a few awards towards the end of my service. To much trouble. Just did my job the best I could and Im not one to look towards praise.scottlav46 Thanks this.

True to your way of liking pay. But in OTR, cpm and % pay is the norm. I prefer OTR, long haul even better. Thats just me. With that being said, CE pay is better than average. Some Companies are starting to catch up.

I get that....some guys like being out. I do too on a nice team dedicated but having spent almost my whole adult life away from home in the Army...I love being home more now. In the past I can stomach 4-5 days out but no more. Currently doing a nice little local gig but have a Texas dedicated looking at me in the near future. Maybe just me but I love dedicated runs to Texas and back
-
... Lorado TX and back is not a bad gig, if I were a single man & no responsibilities, I wouldn't mind doing that runThe Patriot Thanks this.

I understand that. My GF just got her CDL yesterday and is going to team with me. I'll be able to train her too, so it's a win-win for me. I am hoping with going Team, with CE, I wont have the issues I've had in the past with my H.O.S. with. If they can run us at least around 6000/wk, I'll stay. If not, I'll move on with no hard feelings. They are all aware of this too.
Myself, I couldnt stand running Local. Would drive me crazy! When I resigned from Goodyear after 14 years, I sold everything. I like to stay out long periods. Use to stay out 90 days at a time my first 9 months with CE. A GF changed all that. Lol!
But we all have different goals and needs in life. So far, CE meets them pretty much. -
NC to CA, would be my dream gig. But I like Larado too. Living "Footlose and Fancy Free" is great!
-
Team dedicated is where the cash is. If you have to stay with CE get on the Salt Lake run...at least it pays good. No home time to speak of but you said you like staying out. They cannot keep people on that run because of that.
Not a huge fan of local but not bad pay and just waiting for that Texas run to open up. -
Ran a great dedicated/team to Laredo with BD...wish they still had those. Great miles...great pay and good home time.
