I'm not sure about the 10 hour reset thing. We're home every night. Some days are 8. Most are 10-12 though. Anything over12 or over and you have to fill out the DOT log book.
Basically, you show up in the morning, get your box, printer and route sheet. You go till your truck is unloaded. Some days it all comes together- other days it all falls apart. It's always interesting though. -

Yes, the faster you work, the earlier you'll get done. All divisions are different, but at ours you can start as early as 4 am. As long as you're on the road by 8 am they're happy
regarding the music, you'll have a radio in your truck and you'll be alone most of the time so i doubt they'd have any issue with it. The only problem I see is that you're in & out of the stores so fast you might not feel it's even worth it. The goal is to try to average a minute per case so you're really flyingDDOC Thanks this. -
Oh, and yes, we're 5 days a week on the side loaders. Mon- Fri. Only bulk goes out on saturdays
DDOC Thanks this. -

They're all different. Depends what kind of deal your Union negotiated. Usually insurance kicks in between 60-90 days and will cost you about $50 per week. Could be more, could be less.
Most places will pay you a flat rate that you get just for showing up plus a commission per case. Usually .25-.36 cents per case. Plus another .7-.10 cents for every empty tray you bring back and OT for anything over 8 -
Only difference though is Pepsi is a private carrier hauling their own product. That means the federal overtime exemption doesn't apply. -
What you're referring to is the local log exemtion, but you can only use it if you start and stop at the same place every day, and stay within 100 air miles of that point. -
Do you still work for Pepsi? And if so what location?
