How many of you giys have a air hose that attaches to your truck? I'm tired of hooking to trailers and having to find a truck stop to air them.
Tonight i had to stop at 2 different truck stops to air up a tire. I know i jilled at least 30 minutes.
For those that have them can you explain what you have.
Work is talking about making some, but you know how that goes. Is this something i can buy or just easily have made.

I had a truck that came with a factory air quick coupler installed. But it wasn't in a weather proof housing, the springs and balls inside would rust.
I wound up just buying a fifty foot hose, I put a quick coupler on one end and a red glad hand on the other. Between that and the fifteen feet of supply air line on your truck, you'll be able to reach the tires on a 53' trailer. -
Playing with tires is dangerous I don't do it.

One of the first things I bought. Like they said, every truck stop has it. Think it was $30-40

You have a few options. Kenworths have a quick connect under the hood on newer models. You can put a quick connect on an air tank. These will give you your best air flow.Truck stops sell glad hand hoses, but they're expensive junk. Best bet is to make your own using any of these options. I recommend a rubber hose over pvc/plastic. It will be a little more delicate but it'll roll up. When it gets cold rolling a pvc hose is like trying to roll a 2x4.
KenworthGuyNH Thanks this. -
High quality hose..............from a parts house not a truckstop. Cheap money for what it saves in aggravation.

Looks just like the ones you get in the truck stops, but the truck stop one I bought was falling apart, this one was pretty solid. Yeah, it's a bit ungainly rolling it up in cold weather but it isn't all that bad. -
I bought one at a truck stop. Has cheap plastic pvc hose. Worked ok til I was in St paul in the winter. When I went to roll the hose back up after laying on the icy ground it broke into pieces. So I bought a good quality rubber air hose. I also put quick disconnects on it, and bought a good quality long air chuck designed to get into truck duals and stay on the valve stem without having to hold onto it. I wouldn't be without it.
