It was a lot of guys bad mouthing the company when I got there and even when I left. What you gotta do is just form your own opinion. Like I said for me it was cool overall. Even my buddy who got his own truck now hated the place. Like I said just do what's asked and you'll be straight. I never agreed with everything the did but my check was never short and I was home often

Definitely gotta take some time to do some research. There will always be people sayin the company they drive for is way better because... and there will be people that say don't go here they suck because... I appreciate all the help.

There is summerford truckline from ashford, al. I see them around quite often.
TwSysPar Thanks this. -
China,
One of the Southern Ag hopper wagon peanut haulers I was parked next to me recently and a conversation ensued. I didn't realize SouAg had flatbeds but he said they do...3 of them. So if the OP wants to pull a flatbed, that might not be the place for him.
Also, I was going to mention Pope Trucking, Pearson,GA which is close to Valdosta, which I'm guessing is where the OP lives. Their website says 3 years exp so with the 6 months experience, that probably won't be enough for them.
Might try Buddy Moore from Birmingham and Opp, AL. Has flatbed and dry van.
Finally, according to ads in some of the industry magazines, Keen now takes recent CDL School graduates to learn to pull Heavy Haul. I don't see anything about it on their website, though. -
Thanks for all the insight. Yes, Valdosta. Familiar with the area?
-
I couldn't tell you where anything is, other than the truckstops and the highways, but yes, I travel through that area quite a bit.
-
Does Evergreen Transport in Evergreen, AL have any flatbeds?
-
I can't recall seeing any and my friends that used to work there all pulled vans or pneumatic tanks.
-
I see trucks driving through town, but unless we're stopped or coming to a stop it's hard to try to watch where I'm going, and read the moving truck. Lots of log trucks, but need the years of experience to get in with them.
-
I pulled up Keen... Must have 2 years OTR. It seems like local driving doesn't do much for you if you really wanna get out there it's the OTR time that really counts. The goal is to someday heavy haul so maybe in time Keen will be an option, though it is something to inquire about if it's printed that they are considering students.
