You only have 70 hours that you can work before you have to stop driving. You can work the docks until the end of time after that, but if you want to drive again, you'd need to take a 34.
What would a comparative hourly rate be for starters

Considering the post was about what Milage pay would equate to as hourly, driving is kind of a big part of that equation, so working after 70, for the purposes of this discussion has a negative effect on the wages.Emulsified Thanks this.

You should go over to the owner operator section and brag. Nobody in this thread cares.

Spoke to Hogan today, still trying to find the company and CDL training i want to do, SO very badly. Found out for 6 mths is only .30 CPM with gross of 750 a week. That seems small to start after Training am I Wrong?

Your opinion means absolutely nothing to me.

Ehh this whole notion about hourly paid drivers are slackers is wrong. I have one of those hourly union jobs at $26.50 and hour and we have these things called computers in the trucks that monitor everything you do and slacking simply isnt an option or I would just kiss this 90k a year job goodbye.

if you drive 55 mph you get 55 miles in that hour if your making 32 cents a mile its 17.50 for that hour

If driving was the only thing you did at your job then you would make $24 an hour. If you have found a company that provides someone else to do all the pre-trips, post-trips, fuelling, loading and unloading for you then I would keep quiet about it.
