Mostly laziness. Last winter I hauled cement into the Elk State Forest just above St.Mary's, Pa. They were building a well pad on top of the mountain. If you didn't have chains on, you were not welcome up there. I've never heard so much whining about chaining up. Having very little experience with tire chains, I was chained up and ready to go by the time the others were done complaining. And there's no way in Hades I would have tried to go up barefoot
joseph1135 Thanks this. -
RIP Roy Towne, a long time driver for us.
-
Roy was in Wyoming and had a massive heart attack. He then did his last act as a professional driver, putting the truck in the ditch instead of taking out other traffic. RIP to a professional driver here at Lessors.
KenworthGuyNH, TruckDuo, tucker and 10 others Thank this. -

I got off the road due to family. I moved to Nashville and have been working P&D for a local company since I left Lessors. Except for a bad week, have nothing bad to say about them. Got good miles, great equipment, and left you alone to do your job. If I ever go back OTR, they will be the first company I contact.TruckDuo, 123456, 77smartin and 1 other person Thank this.

Me neither....

When I worked at Merit and was running Seattle dedicated out of Indiana you chained no matter what...
-
Merit. Yuck. Leaves a bad taste in my wallet.

Lessors does not though. I'm staying busy, checks are on time and in full and I drive new equipment with an apu and an inverter plus I'm not micromanaged (hell, sometimes I'm not even managed!)
