Why...as good as Millis is if you have 2 plus years driver you can write your own ticket.

Not quite. It seems being LTL for the last two years has made me "inexperienced." So pulling doubles has actually hurt my chances of going back OTR. I've gotten the same answers from several companies now. Not one of them can explain to me how pulling doubles in traffic and hitting upwards of 20 docks a day makes me less experienced than an OTR driver just because I don't sleep in the truck.

Officially, they say I need 12 consecutive months of OTR in the last 3 years. Since I have been LTL for more than 2 years I don't meet the OTR requirements.

Millis is the only one to call me back and give me an orientation date. (One other company said they were doing a background check and I haven't heard from them in 3 weeks)

Anyway, Oct 26 I will be in Cartersville for orientation and I'm going back regional.

 

Man that sucks I would think pounding all the miles every day LTL pulling doubles would count for something...best of luck to you.

I figured they would too. If I knew it would be this hard I would've never went LTL.

 

LTL and Local is overrated

 

I agree but it was the right thing for my family at the time. Time to start making money again
