That's why I was really wanting to get in with Schneider.

Being an entrepreneur is my goal. Yes, I could make just as much (if not more) working local around Charlotte, but I would be working for someone. I'm tired of working for people.

    Several options with Swift ...

Lease brand new ... And IEL WILL finance the residual.

Take over a lease on and existing brand ... IEL will finance the residual.

Do a straight purchase ... IEL has used company trucks available for purchase ... not a lease but an actual purchase. This will come with a 30 day bumper to bumper, no questions asked, warranty.

Do a lease purchase through an affiliate dealer ... Swift will cosign for you on a lease purchase at some national dealers such as Arrow ... this varies from terminal to terminal on availability and the dealer.

Swift gives you a lot of latitude to run your business. You don't put up with a lot of the nonsense that one does with some of the other companies .

If you run smart you should clear $50K, after taxes, a year working 40 to 42 weeks.

This is what I've been looking for! Thank you! Hey, I heard something about Swift implementing a load board, something similar to the choice board. Is that true?

For as big as swift is, and for as many L/O trucks I see on the road, I don't hear too much bad, I heard they have a sliding pay scale? I guess it's better then .90 but IMO a good company that runs on % is the way to go.

For solo OTR 48 there is an option to work with a broker ... it is by application and not open to everyone. You negotiate a fixed price with the broker.

You won't see rates as high as some claim on Schnieder ... but you can get anywhere from $.10 to $.40 per mile more than the Swift base rates, including mt miles. With few exceptions all live. But, detention is $30 per hour after the first 2 hours and rarely any issues ... VNU for broker loads is $250.

Also Swift has no required maintenance escrow. You can have one, but you can access the funds anytime you want, no reason required.

I saw on their website that they have a sliding pay scale. I guess since Schneider is being ridiculous, it's better than nothing.

I would be doing OTR. I've had a few guys take pictures of the Schneider load board, and they're making decent money. Honestly, I may consider staying with Swift for a few months, and then calling Schneider back and seeing what they say. They say I won't be eligible for hire until 2021, but that's based on something that isn't true. I believe Landstar has a load board, but I've heard more negative feedback about them than good.

If they're using DAC, I ran into similar issues a while back. I don't know about now but DAC used to just match the first three letters of your first name, first three of your last name and first three of your social. So anybody who came up on a cdlis or whatever DAC uses with the same first three as yours, they assume like idiots that's you. I can't tell you how many times I got asked about a DWI in Tennessee I had, when I never lived in Tenessee. The guy's name was even on the report as Bradley Charles Dunn and a few companies actually said "oh well it's on your report so we believe that's yours". That's not even my name.
