I will be coming back to W/S on 4/6. I've been doing the O/O program at Schneider for the past 18 months (which is a great program BTW). But, a family emergency has caused me to come back to Shortline in Vancouver. Anybody else going to orientation next week?

Just got checked into my room at the Econo Lodge, any body here?
bigred81 Thanks this. -
do you still work for them? How'd it go?
-
No, I left again. They made alot of promises and didnt follow through. They arent a bad company to start out with, but there are betting places to go. Im driving a log truck now and home every night and every weekend. Good luck.

Copy. I was hauling lumber out of Tillamook, Oregon. But my man and I want to run teams! But we want a good company that will have good equipment and lots of long miles. I've been driving for 11 years and he has over a year OTR. Plus he road with me before he got is cdl. So he knows this ins and outs.

You might want to look into Schneider's IC Choice owner operator program. My wife and I did it for a couple of years, but had a family emergency and had to come off the road. On that program you dispatch yourself off their load board.

That sounds interesting. But I've never been a fan of Schneider.

I hadnt either, but I was really a nice surprise.

@WingRider - Just got my CDL, have talked to a few of there drivers that said they liked working there. Talked to a recruiter this week. Would WS be a good company to get my career going?? Training? Miles?(recruiter said there swamped with freight) Equipment? Any info or input you have would be appreciated. Being a newbie, I would at least like to get on with a company and be able to do a year or longer.

They are a great starting point. They are replacing all of their OTR tractors to Freightliners and Volvos all with Auto shift transmissions. They usually have lots of freight with long miles. Good luck.horsecrazychic22 Thanks this.
