    Our owner wanted us to test the viability of running for FXCC. We'll be leaving Ground in 2 weeks and heading over to orientation the following week as the guinea pig team. I haven't seen alot on FXCC on the boards here, so I figured I'd start a thread.

    We are going to be running in the White Glove division. That is specialized reefer freight. Medicines and things like that. The trailers are high end reefers rentable through FXCC for 6%. Seems high to me... but we'll see. There is a waiting list on these trailers right now so we'll probably be pulling dry van until then.

    They offer 2 pay packages currently -per mile and percentage. We've opted for percentage pay and our owner is being very generous with us, topping out the other contractors we've talked to. FSC is based on 1.25/gallon at 6.5mpg.

    To be eligible you need to have 2 years experience, hazmat and tanker endorsements. You need a clean recent record. You also need TVAL cert to run reefer, but they will train and certify you for that.

    This is one of the few places that will sponsor you for DOD clearance to haul AA&E.

    Our owner - who is a super guy- is leasing a brand new truck through Penske for us. I have concerns that the mileage in the lease won't cover a hard running team - but we have a back up plan in place to replace the truck halfway through the year if we need to. As far as I know your truck must be no more than 2 years old at the time of lease. So, this isn't for everyone.

    Our job is to go over there, figure out if the company is profitable, and if so, come up with best practices and a training program for our company drivers to follow. If everything works out, hubby and I will split up and begin training drivers in April.

    In the meantime we are busy wrapping things up here and I will be taking a weekend to go see my father. He's been ill a long time and here lately seems like he's going downhill.

    Temperature certification of some kind. Watch it be something like turn on your reefer before you get the load. Green light means good. Amber light means bad soon. Red light means bad. Lol.

    I'll give you more info when I get it.

    I know, right? Us either. Lol

    I heard a team at CC few months back ran a load of penguins. I'd wanna do that just to see the other drivers' faces when my trailer starts squawking in the fuel island. Lol.

    That's only the box van guys. They are too long for some customer docks with a 53 apparently. Sigh. I'll be in a regular old tractor, just like always.

    ####! I saw a really nice FXCC sleeper. Even had a mobile sattelite dish. Wouldn't be suprised if it had a hot tub in there
