Franky I'm not discounting what you say has happend. The context just seems odd not to mention I am friends with one of the corp safety guys for Knight and I know he would of came unglued at any of this.
Somethings in this thread are defently true.
Zonar tracks speed non stop. If that truck goes over 70 safety is notified when and where and for how long it happened. If the truck goes over 75 another alert is sent out this time to corp. it notes the location where and when it happened and for how long. Safety can also see what the truck has been traveling are over the corse of the trip and if its above 70 for any amount of time the truck is automatically audited. This cant be avoided, such as shutting the tablet off as its tracked from the box in the dash.
As for a gun, Knight along with every other mega carrier is a gun free zone. Why its not impossible for someone to hide a gun its very unlikly they would.
Also Knight has a pretty strickt policy in hiring people. Someone that has been in Jail multiple times would have a darn near impossible time getting employed here or anywhere else for that matter.
Last thing, Drive status can only be changed when the truck is STOPPED and its quite obvious because when it happens you have to punch in your password. Not to mention the giant arse box in the right hand corner with your name in bold. Also, once the truck starts moving the system announces "your name" will be switched to Drive.
The thing that strikes me and that I have noticed in my years is there is just as many crazy trainees as there are trainers. Sometimes the batty one is not the teacher.

Reason for edit: Removed phone numbers -
If this trainer said all those things why did you have him train you?Common since should have told you no and request another trainer.
-
I was told by the terminal manager that trainers are in short supply and I had already been waiting 2 weeks in a motel, that I would have to take them or it would be at least another month before having the opportunity to go out. Well eager as I was to get started, I opted to go.
-
They need drivers so bad but then you would have had to wait for another trainer.how pitiful is that on knights part.Anyway you will have to go thru training again so if you have another bad trainer, get off his trk even if it means you'll have to wait for another trainer.Because ill tell you right now if hes bad you won't complete the entire training with him.

No, we had to make multiple stops frequently as he was arguing on phone. I was not allowed to look at the Zonar as he would always have it facing him. We did not use maps or any GPS, I turned where I was told.
Yes, gun free zone. But was reminded there is one on the truck continually. Yes, he did know and required to know my PW and log in because its HIS truck and I am the trainee. I was told he has to know it to examine my logs. -
This is the biggest BS excuse I hear from Trainers all the time. The HIS truck thing is ######## and frankly. Unless you are doing something unsafe or going to hurt someone. You have as much right in the truck as he does.
Like I said before. I'm not discounting your experience. I was just pointing out some of the things maybe over dramatized. Why bad trainers do exist and frankly should have there training pulled, I have noticed over the years that bad trainees are just as common. This is not pointed at you just something I have noticed.rabbiporkchop and pattyj Thank this. -
Fajo, give the OP the benefit of the doubt. This sort of stuff you simply can't make up. And the idea this was the VERY FIRST thing mentioned at the introduction means the trainee did not have any time to tick off the trainer so I don't see how you can lay any of this off on the trainee except to say the OP is flat out lying.
I just find the whole thing disturbing but I can understand that at some point, a trainee gets tired of waiting and burning money they can't afford to burn, and eventually just wants to get the process started [towards a finish], no matter.Interstellar Thanks this. -
I drive for them and I'm am idiot! I meant to say that they usually don't take new, zero experience drivers, even though it appears they make a lot of exceptions. Which I don't understand. I guess I don't fully understand. In slc, most of our recruits are all from the other megasdrvrtech77 and Interstellar Thank this.
