Feeling very concerned about the future of the occupation. There are so many people pushing the propaganda of this technology. The people at www.cavcoe.com make it their mission to tirelessly promote the proliferation of autonomous vehicles. Drivers need a voice!

I think at most we'd be talking about trucks that can only run on auto-pilot on very select stretches of select roadways in optimal weather conditions. But a driver is ALWAYS going to have to be in the truck, regardless. Don't lose any sleep over this.

Once upon a time a autoworker laughed and said theirs NO way a computer or robot can do my job .. It may not happen in our driving career but it will happen someday. Greed trumps all

We'll see transportation being conducted above ground like on The Jetson's before we'll see an unmanned truck/trailer combination leave a dock in Commerce City CA, drive to, and back into a dock Edison, NJ, using the interstate road system as we know it.

This is not about unmanned or "driverless trucks", this is about automated driving. Big difference. No different then auto-pilot in a jet airliner. We have completely automated systems flying jets today from run-out to land/stop, yet they all have at least 2 pilots.

Actually, it would be easier to implement pilotless jets then driverless trucks.

A few modern day Butch and Sundance characters will put the kibosh on any unmanned vehicles hauling more than waste products.

Like those famous robot skeet ... err I mean drones delivering pizza.

We are not that evolved as a society yet.
