Anybody have any experience with the factory antennas on these trucks. Now that I have the Cascadia all figured out, we've switched to these for 2016 at least!![]()

First thing i did was took those Kw antennas off and replace them with my predators then i had a ground issue, those mirrors bracket are powder coated i have use dye grinder where antenna mount and grounded bracket to cab and voila my rig was working the way it should.

I won't be able to do any grinding. And I figured that might be the issue.

Why not run new coax to the factory mount and screw in whatever antenna you want?
Should be easy with a fish tape. -
There's got to be a way to transfer ground from the skin of the door over to the factory mount without grinding if you can think outside the box. Copper foil maybe?
-
Last truck I had like that I just ran a 10ga wire from the antenna mount bolt to the mirror to door mount bolt. No sanding needed.

If grinder is not viable option, go with sandpaper and clean just a out the same size as the stud nobody will see it, or you could go with the outback type antenna bracket but your are looking at an extra 30-40$ more.

I have done that in the past, but i finally got rid of all issue with the grinding/sandpaper solution as i said if you clean only the area needed it's clean and costless solution and no one will know about it.

Nobody will know until you take your stud off when it's time to switch trucks

Most of you miss the point. I drive two, maybe three days at the most and not every week. Usually in a different truck. I don't want to take the time and trouble to sand, grind etc every time I go drive. I want something quick and easy. It took a while for the Cascadia. I tried something different every time I went to work until I found what worked. I'll probably figure something out for this too. I'm starting now by seeing what everybody else has figured out.
Ougigoug Thanks this.
