I did a short course, was supposed to be 6 weeks, I passed the road test for gubmint feller on day 5 and out into the world I went.

Wifey started coming along and with permission I trained her to do all my driving for me and now we run as team.

Soon it won't be an option, as it seems the FMCSA is determined that we are all dangerous without doing their proscribed training and there is a mandate in the pipeline now. If you're going to act, act fast.

You see if you apply at your local WORK FORCE, UNEMPLOYMENT OFFICE OR CAREER TRAINING PROGRAM they will provide you with assistance 99.9% of the time it's free it's all based apon your income and like you said you don't have the money so it's probably going to be free for you. You just need to find 1 of these agencies in your area, we're do you live

It always takes 1 person. I've paid taxes majority of my life from age 17 to age now 41 and fell on rough times, I thank God for work force, they helped me get my life on track. And pride is a joke when you contribute to a system you are entitled to help when you need it. I'm a Owner Operater with my own truck in the process of purchasing more trucks to help people to become a Owner Operater without all the BS. So if you wanna call it welfare MJ1657 so be it, I'll give it back by helping others oh yea by the way I'VE READ YOUR COMMENTS YOUR A JOKE.

Well when you mention welfare it's insulting as well. I've worked hard to give give to society and if I need help or anyone of that matter then they should get it and I'm not talking about getting it and making a career out of it but if it will boost you to hire leaps then why not take advantage of it, WELFARE is considered a hand out and if that's the case any help we may receive even if it came from a friend or familh member could be considered welfare. Help the youmg person they sre tryong to advance in life and if that will help them advance why shouldn't they use it, and yes I called you a Joke because like I said I've read your comments and they don't up life, incourage, support, give guidance nothing but criticism. And that's the problem people criticizing other people.

Thankfully I was brought up to work for what I have not stick my hand out.

As far as just criticizing and not helping people read the fourth post in this thread. If you would read the whole thread instead of spending time putting people down and calling them names you would have maybe caught that.

That's the advice I have to offer you.

I'm done hijacking the ops thread.

If money is tight, just go to a trucking company school that provides meals and hotel.
Earl Henderson Trucking has a good reputation for CDL schooling.
