That's where I thought he was going with that comment

I pulled a van for 20 years. Some customers want their dry freight on a van . Like empty beverage cans and bulky items. Sometimes those products are packaged and palletized in such a way as to use all available space in a van. Some customers even require certain types of vans that have thin walls and maximum interior space.

Is that quite a few or the 10%?

If you are able to deal directly w/brokers, as I do, that's something that can be discussed before ever getting the load. I have never just blindly shown up to grab a load without inquiring first about shippers loading requirements.

That's my plan. I'll make sure to keep that question in mind.
Straight Stacks Thanks this. -
You don't want to be flatbed we get all dirty ,it's hard physical work, cold in the winter, hot in the summer better to do van and after a couple years you can squeeze your fat ### in behind the wheel reach for your high blood pressure meds then head down the road..

Sometimes you even get paid for what you know, not what you do. But when they ask, van or flat, I recommend van too.jerezxp7 Thanks this.
