The only real way to check the shocks is to replace them and in this case, 160k, just go ahead and do it, replace them with good quality shocks, not cheap ones.

That's when the wear pattern started . It doesn't seem to affect the future wear or traction . I got 350k out of a pair of Bridgestones that had leaky valve stems causing this exact same wear pattern . I wouldn't recommend throwing parts at it unless there is some other reason for the need such as mileage for the shocks .

Here's a few general points to consider . Alignment problems will cause wear on one edge , shocks or other suspension components will cause scalloping across multiple tread blocks and tire casing damage will cause wear usually at a diagonal all the way across the tread. With non-lug truck tires , under inflation will cause both edges to wear . Over iinflation will cause both lug and non-lug tires to explode .

Under inflation of lug tires will cause exactly the single lug wear in the photos .

Are you saying you think the silicone on the wheel seals remedied the problem?

Are all you airbags the same brand? I would also check the ride height....kinda of strange that your eating up drives and its not the torque arms or bushings.....only other thing i could think of is a loose ubolt on spring shackle.......as I scratch my head.

What pressure are you running in the tires? I have found best wear comes from running max sidewall pressure, especially if the tires are not originals. The originals may work well at the truck manufacturer's specs, but other tires may need more air.
