I am normally out 3-5 days then back in for the weekend. I normally run about 500 miles out and back and do it 2-3 times a week depending on how long it takes to get back.
Curious, how often do O/O generally stay out

I try to stay motivated long enough to stay out for two full weeks, then home for a week. In reality, my motivation Peters out after the first week and I'm looking for a load home. And someone I just can't get motivated to leave no matter what, there was a 91 day block last year that I didn't pull a single load. So far this year I was home most of July, and from September 3rd till October 12th. And I'll be home again tomorrow till, well, maybe a couple days, maybe till January.

Home every night. You really can't beat regional loads at 2-2.50.

Never. I'm cursed to spend eternity on these lonely highways. Part of the deal I made with the devil when he got me that brand new Kenworth.
Nah, just kidding. Honestly? Probably once ever 6 weeks or so.MayhemTrucking Thanks this. -

MC...I'm thinking about getting back into trucking after a 7yr leave. I like the sound of your schedule. Would I be over stepping my bounds by aksing if you're able to to that with brokers or if you do it on a load board being leased on somewhere? Located in NC here and like I said I'm not driving at the moment.

Once you got a few contacts you could be home every weekend. If you live rest of 95 expect a bit of a dead home home, and out.

Thanks spyder. I'm west of 95 about 45 minutes east of Asheville NC on the I-40. Running into brick walls with company's wanting recent otr experience although I have 21 yrs but none in the past 7. Looks like my only option might be taking a company driver gig til I get some time under the belt. Thus far the only company I've found that only runs MVR for experience on O/O is Stratus but they want me to stay out. Anyone have any suggestions my ears are wide open. No prob financing a truck, credit is great, just finding the company.

With no recent experience, you have two options, company driver at a lower tier company(eating a twelve gauge would be preferable) or get your own authority. That isn't as difficult as many make it out to be, but also not a get rich scheme like many think it is. You will net the same as an owner operator at a good company, and have a lot more work, but it will get you experience.
