I liked my Prostar, I just hated the Rigmaster that was on it.
Good luck with that, what I was told is if it did not come from that factory that way then forget it, also that there was no fender mirrors for them, might have changed though, never hurts to ask.

Also good luck with that, your forgetting, your a company driver, they won't do much mods unless your going to pay for it. Also remember any mods you make to the truck after you get it, has to be changed back before you turn it in or you will get charged for it on your last settlement.
Yep, then go over it again to make sure everything was fixed like it was supposed to be. Write up every little nick and scratch on it also.

    Not a Prime truck.

Here is a 2014 with the mirrors. But I hear ya. I really find the nose mirrors useful. You'd think the safety department would demand all trucks have the nose mirrors. In training they tell you to check all SIX mirrors, not four.

shewww long day here parked at 01 last night, began loading at 0900, and just finished the driving. Anyway that's a non issue. You've gotten used to the F.L and you can get used to the prostar too. All the proximities will change in the F.L. you were used to looking out and gauging how far away objects were while backing. All that will change so just be really careful right at first. In my experience I've been much more venerable to making a mistake in the 1st month or so of changing make/models of trucks.
Some trucks need noise mirrors more than others the F.L. would absolutely not be ok w/o, the pete I had I rarely used it but it had that little window in the door. But I'm with you I would not want to be w/o them. They aren't going to be part that pripit likely stocks, so you would have to go to international, so contact the f.m. about it. Like highway said good luck. With the antennas yes you're correct the international will have better range but not by much in its stock form. Though it will allow you to upgrade antennas more easily. I'm having trouble with my phone gonna respond in parts.

Also coordinate this with the fm common for new drivers to be routed though home to pick up some things they couldn't bring on the dog. The f.m. may want you to stay out and run a few loads 1st. So its up to them how soon some get em back in a few days and some longer. I think I was out 1 1/2-2 weeks right after getting on the truck.
Yes we are about to go into the slower part of the year but that's not till after x-mas, so you've got some time. And yes freight is slow but it's still steady it's not like it's completely dead, relax you'll be fine.
Been hit? Where how bad? Not that it matters once the smoke smell is in there it's so hard to get out. So the blue one is just dirty then? Its a P.S.? Front mirrors? Don't inspect a dirty truck(talkin the exterior) these things are too big and its too easy to miss damage especially when its dirty. That's ok though just go get the keys, alarm code hook a trailer and roll it though the wash bay provided detail has said they are done with it. As far as the interior they can redetail that for you, had to have pittston do it again on mine. As a company guy Prime will detail your truck anytime for free at a yard.
Yep pick which ever one you like and if its not released by detail then wait for it but make sure that the truck will be released once detail is done. Some trucks are held afterwards for shop work. Detail, or parts should be able to tell you, if not try the shops office. If no one has any notes or records attached to that truck telling them to hold it and why then it should be avail after detail. Likewise if its on the list as avail then it avail. Just make sure you take your time with the inspection note any and all damage no matter how minor. Make sure everything works. Some other things you may want to consider outside of color are; apu hours, miles, lifetime fuel economy, and lifetime average speed, and how long is left on the truck. Which can be found in the permit book page 3 (I think) it says success leasing on it and has date on that paper all trucks are 3 years so 3 years from that date it will be time to turn the truck in. If not in the truck permit books are in outbound can pick it up anytime. You may want to bobtail over there and get chains and load locks before leaving so you can situated. The PS' s will get slightly lower fuel mileage than the evo's maybe 3 tenths give or take. However they were getting some of the best mileage in the fleet before the evo came out so they're aren't bad. And good luck darth hope you get one you really like.

Don't forget to get; washer fluid, oil, coolant, spare head light bulbs, inserts for the glad hands, antigel (x2), winter blades (x1), summer blades(x1), set of filters for apu p.m. (sometimes TA will be out), cab filter apu, and spare smaller belt for apu (I believe size is a gates 7200 or gates 7300, mine broke every 3 mo. and TA never had)

Also, get a couple of mud flaps if you can, they come in real handy if your picking up a trailer and its mud flaps are damaged, you can swap them out right there and not have to worry about making a maintenance stop before you get on with he load.

Congratulations on upgrading! It's a pretty awesome feeling knowing they trust you enough with your own rig.

I'm surprised they're letting you pick. When I upgraded back in January, they already had our names on the rigs and were just giving us the keys to the one we were assigned. You can keep that Prostar. When I first upgraded, I was really hoping to get one because I thought they looked much better and had better use of the interior space. Was disappointed when I was put in a Cascadia. Then near the end of winter I was placed in a loaner Prostar for a week while my truck was down for a coolant leak. Changed my opinion real fast. Nice to live in, but I just hate the way they drive. Only positive was the extremely large mirrors. Could use some of those on the freightliner.

I was unaware any of the Prostars came without nose mirrors. Every single one I've seen has them mounted, though that might have changed with the 2016 orders, but I can't imagine why.

Echo what everyone else has said about equipment to grab before leaving. I would also get a broom of some sort from the company store for sweeping out the trailer, as my experience is you won't always be able to get the trailer washed out before your next load.

    Good luck out there, man!

Well, I was able to get one with nose mirrors. They won't take out the passenger seat, but whatever. It's being detailed now.
