I spent three days in Fort Campell KY, and that heat there near killed me! It's too humid when you are sticking to CLOTH seats! Like you, I will take the 110 degrees in Bakersfield over that!
But I like cold weather. I really enjoyed the -15 in WY. Until it turned into a flippin blizzard!

Idaho has a nice dry heat.........but bloody cold winters.

Wet Heat..... almost sounds like the title of a porn movie. But try south Louisiana at about 98 Degrees at 80% humidity. Sometimes you walk outside during the summer for just a minute, and the your clothes are damp when you walk back in. Then there's the State Bird. Other wise known as the Mosquitos. They fly in battle formation here.

The real reason for white sheets/bandages...when somebody has a wound, if you use white, the errant threads are easier to spot, whereas if the threads are colored, it may look like small veins or nerves, causing a bad prognosis. -
I was told by an Army Instructor years ago that high beams draw creatures to the road at night, and the safest bet is to forget they exist and slow down.
That being said, I have never (knocks on what is hopefully wood) hit a deer out here in the middle of the deer hunting capital of the world, Missouri.
With my low beams on, I have had an 8 point buck race my 4x4 down the road when I slowed to approach him and then sped back up. I have also watched as they harmlessly passed in front of me on the road many times and kept right on going.
If it takes high beams to see where you're going at decent speeds and weather, have your headlights checked. Bulbs dim long before they burn, and there are better bulbs/ lamps to be had.
There is nothing on this earth worse than driving the flats in the middle of the country and being on the approach of a vehicle with what clearly are UFOs where his headlights should be. -

I forgot Lightsticks, some of those foil wrapped, break to activate lightsticks can be used to mark the lines on the pavement when backing into a loading dock indoors or at night.
Wrecking bar, used to pull nails out of trailer floors.
