Ok take ss out of it how about if you go bprrpw for a house your w2 shows you made less than you actually did also what if you get hurt workers comp is less. I see it solely as a way for companiesto save on costs or else they'd never offer it. Theyre not doing it for employees benefit.

CRETE and a few others pay practical miles. Hhg mileage pay is a rip off.

I strongly recommend to anyone in the trucking industry to consult with a tax professional that deals with the trucking industry. ATBS and John Turner CPA to name a few. The average tax preparer has no clue. Only someone that deals with the trucking industry knows all the tax laws for the trucking industry and will get you the best results.

Funny thing or not so funny thing is almost all carriers charge the customer practical miles but only a few carriers pay their drivers practical miles. Just another way to boost their bottom line. And we know how Schneider pays. I think it's called Schneider miles.

The difference I have seen is a company that pays practical usually pays a little less per mile. However its also important to remember the total number of paid miles you run per week. If you do your research and make best decision for you. I wish all success.

Wow this is alot to take in. I'm a Schneider driver and being new I have to do the per diem thing. So will I not get alot back when I do my taxes this year? Or will I have to pay?. Would it be best at the 1st to stop it?
