I always wondered what was so hard to understand what the sign "Maintain 45 MPH" means.

from what i'm seeing of parents posting what their kids have to learn in school these days. i don't think there's any emphasis on reading anymore.

now it's about E=mc squared and the new math. parents are CLUELESS how to help their kids out with homework.

The scales have lulled alot of drivers into complacency, how many actually scale you and aren't on auto bypass? There was alot of butthurt on the CB early this week when Swift sped right thru the bypass lane. I was at that new scale on a hill between Arkansas and Oklahoma and I was the last truck. The ramp would have been full If I had joined the scale queue but I didn't get the bypass arrow. I sucked it up and joined the queue. Two trucks that got in behind me jumped out of the queue and went down the bypass lane and got pulled in by DOT. I've been driving since May I know I'm getting weighed in Cali, Ok, Ark and showing my papers in Arizona. The scales coming out of El Paso in NM the guy in the booth just leaves a little sticker on the window saying "GO". Up until this week Lordsburg ,NM had their scales coned off. If it wasn't for the quallcom message I got this week informing me about it being "Safty Week" I would just assume It would be another week of pulling into scales and bypassing it.

"Maintain" is one too many syllables for some people. They can't figure out a one syllable word like "yield" either. But that's another whole topic.

Saw this when it first came out...Christopher Fiffie who owns Big Rig Videos filmed it. Good stuff...like most of the projects he has his hands on.

Im not an everyday driver whatever that means but I do know how to read signs. I run 48 states and can tell you that I have never had a problem going thru scales. Most are self explanatory. But then again, we are dealing with truckers here.

So what your saying is, shame on truckers for not being perfect.

I'll have to remember that every time I watch you all roll through closed ports during the day. Cuz you all have no problems rolling by at night. I'm still trying to figure that one out.

I'll be the guy you're cussing for slowing to 5 mph (as the sign instructs) at an EZpass lane. Too bad.

Not long after getting EZpass, I took the PA turnpike from Breezewood to Bedford for a Walmart stop. I rolled thru the Bedford plaza a little fast, maybe 10 mph, and it didn't scan. Next day, they pop me for an unexpected $500 reload on the toll account. I check my account. Apparently if you don't scan both an entry and an exit to define the trip, they just charge you the maximum toll possible from the one scan they got. I think it's about $150 to ride from Breezewood to Philadelphia, which I would never do. I thought I had another month or two worth of toll money and wasn't expecting it. I had to send in a paper form to protest it, and it was resolved in about a week.

It's a reflex test, driver. That's why they wait until you're right under the arrows at full speed to light one and see you swerve to get it.

If the sign says 5 or 10 mph, that's different. But don't come to a stop in one that says 30.
