Thanks. A lot of solid advice right there. All areas I need to improve in and am working on after I changed from company the f.m. I had for years where all that work was long and done to the contractor side. None the less it helps to hear other peoples perspectives on what makes them successful.

Ha ha ha....
Was wondering after I posted that if you were even old enough to catch.
Post wasn't in vain.
I'm finally taking some time off.......so I'll let you know if I find 'em!
-
Enjoy it! How long have you been out this go?
-
Folks get tired of me saying it, but it is so true it isn't funny.
Most ALL of what we do depends so much on..........wait for it........
Relationships.
No way around it. If that is not figured out & realized, it's a hard row to hoe out here. We HAVE to deal with others that DO have certain control over what happens to us, whether we like it or not. So, use that knowledge to work to your best advantage ( and their's).
If looked at from this perspective, it IS a win/win situation for all. Does it work out that way ALL the time.............of course not. But, sure works out for the best a large majority of the time. Surely as heck beats fighting an uphill battle & #####ing all the time. Just makes you a miserable SOB all the time. (Like a lot of whom I see out here. Too many the sad lot.)
Didn't even get into the shippers & recievers, as we have so many and diverse. But, a lot holds true even with them.
Uh oh......here it comes again...........
Relationships, relationships, relationships. ...........
Work your interpersonal skills, all!
Took me quite awhile to catch on to this SIMPLE aspect, to see such a HUGE.change in how things go.
How do those AMEX commercials go?
Difference to MY state of mind..........priceless. And, that ain't no joke!
Difference to my pocketbook.......priceless.
Brehon and darthanubis Thank this. -
3 days off in nearly 2 yrs.
Took 3 days off for my cousins wedding, otherwise wouldn't have even done that.
All choice, though. Retired, sold all my properties & most everything else & moved into truck. I love what I do & can't see myself doing anything else. Thought about it 30yrs ago, now reget I didn't do it then. This IS my life, & the truck IS my home.
Wouldn't have it any other way!
michaelg, Brehon and darthanubis Thank this. -
Dispatch says everyone cries for hometime.
They ask me, "when the hell you gonna get outta' the truck?"
I just finally answered their question this week.darthanubis Thanks this. -
FMJ, awesome posts.
NFT, we have to meet.
I have to do better with my 14 hour clock.
By the time the 90 appointment time rolls around, my clock will be up. But I'm literally 100 yards away. I found some parking around the corner. I should be able to get unloaded and parked again without violation.
I think I shouldn't have started driving so soon today?
Reading up on HOS. Training just brushed over it.
Still having fun.Last edited: Oct 19, 2015
