In NC it's possible to have a restricted drivers license. If you get a DWI it's possible to have a stipulation that you can still drive to work and back home only. There also can be restrictions due to child support and probation reasons. A clear or clean license is one without these restrictions.
NC is a great choice. Sampson County is less than $500 to get your CDL and Johnson County is just under $1000. Both programs are 8 weeks long. You will learn more than any CDL mill.
I went to Johnson County College 2 years ago. Great program. 384 hrs of instruction. 1/3 of time in classroom and 2/3 driving on road or on the practice field.grundens and flyingmusician Thank this. -
and yes I'd rather bang up my beater than kill a dog. Like I said if I was in either of my other vehicles it would of been different.

I went to Davidson county. Current cost there is around $1200. You need to plan ahead depending on the campus you may have to wait until the next available class as they fill up early. It was only 854 when I went 4 1/2 years ago but like everything else has increased in cost over time. I had 380hrs / 8 weeks and 750 miles seat time. Graduated on Friday started work the next Monday.
Additionally they have very good contacts for hiring beyond just the usual suspects with some very good and more local companies within NC. You won't be forced to choose between the swifts and werners and trams ams of the world if you don't want to -
