I have talked with a few drivers from BIG FREIGHT in the last year and they all complained about being $$ screwed over.
A few questions...

38 degrees F In Erie, Pa this morning with snow showers. Went down to the marina to see how many boats were left at the docks. Also to run the engine for awhile to charge the batteries. Pulling it out next weekend.

I've heard good and bad from them. I know a couple of guys who were there. They said it was OK. Lots of snow mobiles to deliver. Light but some of the places they go aren't the most truck friendly. It's a starter company.
Anyway, I was just suggesting he find someone that will do a pre hire but keep looking for something close to home.Nik2015 and taxihacker66 Thank this. -
Both seem like decent gigs, OP.
Unfortunately for you the vast majority of TTR is from south of the border and may not have too much to share on either of these companies. I'd compare their starting wages, how many miles you'd be getting, what sort of trucks they have and comforts, and then just go from there. Agri-Tel seems like a good gig basing that solely of their website.Nik2015 Thanks this. -
my next issue is how far is normal for a person to drive just to get to work. 2-3 hours just seems ridiculous. But that is what I'm going to have to do it seems.

I know a guy who commuted that far every week, he didn't last long with that company. Not what you want but if you can't find a local company you may need to at first.
Some companies will let you take the truck home to reset, some want it at the terminal for maintenance. If they deliver to your town or at least run by it regularly you may be able to have no commute.
Look around your area for trucks that are parked. Also note what companies deliver nearby or run through the area regularly. If you're close to the TransCanada, the 75 or any other busy truck lane you may be able to find something.Nik2015 Thanks this. -
wow that sure is cold i lived in Utah it was interesting before it snowed it would actually warm up say from 17 f to around 32f first then get really cold again which was weird but at least you had an idea of when it would snow.

Wish me luck! I got an email response from one of the companies this morning!
