Too young for landstar, I think you have to be 23 to sign up with landstar. Only 21 here. Can you give me your input on why the choice is so much better or is it just because in choosing your own loads, only you can choose to sink or swim, you're not dependent on a fm? Thanks again.

Don't know about Schneider but last I checked you have to be 23 for Swift as well.

Swift and schneider are 21, with 6 months experience unless you go through their schooling. I went through another major company schooling and got my six months. Just trying to make the decision between these 2 now. I'm already in at swift, they're calling every other day. Still waiting to hear back from schneider. I think the 3 choice load from swift isn't too bad and a step up from a "here take this load or sit" from where I juat left.
Didn't mean to thread jack too btw!

Only problem with Mac 30 (3 load choice) is the planners rarely populate the list so you either wait for a preplan or start making calls.

You can do a mac 30 as many times as you'd like though correct?
And calls to dispatch or do you mean brokers?
I don't have enough posts to pm but if you could pm me and give me a brief overview of the process I'd greatly appreciate it!

Ok, there is some information that's not being spread out here and I'm going to give it because (whether intentional or not) mystic is giving people false hope.

If you come to swift today, you WILL NOT get on this program! I've been here the better part of the year and cannot get on it.

It is BY SENIORITY, and INVITE ONLY. You cannot and will not get any help from RR. I tried. If you haven't been here for YEARS, do not bother.

This is simply swift kicking money out to the guys that have been here longer. Nothing more.

Officially you're supposed to wait an hour between Mac 30s and you have to be within 18 hours of your PTA.
In reality I do a Mac 30 every 15-20 minutes. Works as often as not. And I've found that it starts working about 28 hours before your PTA.

As previously mentioned FORGET about the broker program. Command shut it off after taking 4-500 O/Os on and as mentioned there is a waiting list.

Sometimes I call my DM, sometimes I call the planners directly, sometimes I just send a message. Personally I think having your DM message a planner is a waste of time. Lately my DM has been calling the planners for m e with good results.

Or you could just go with Schneider and use their load board.

This week has been trash...my worst week of trucking all year. sat two days in Houston after I couldn't scale a load cause the shipper put 4k more in the trailer than the bills said, and it was loaded too heavy in the nose.

Oh well, there's always next week. Sure hope freight picks up soon

Well do you want a dispatcher or not? That's the main question.
Schneider is a lot of responsibility totally running yourself and picking out what to do but with that there's more money to be made. Swift is cheap mileage pay which is just.............. no. At least for me.
On % at least it feels fair that the more difficult loads do pay more.
